8x10G on a single NIC ? (Dual 40G or 100G with fanout/splitters)

Folks,

Does anyone know if I can get 8x10G on a single NIC using Dual 40G or 100G with fanout/splitters ?

It likely won't be as plug-n-play (maybe sr-iov would do the trick on some cards).
For dual 40G you need to have nic that supports QSFP+ transceivers in dual 40Gig card; and then depending on drivers/card it may have to rely on vlan to isolate correctly.

Hi

Only special NICs. Intel XL710 or E810

• Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapters XL710-QDA2(8086-1583): 2x40, 2x2x10, 4x10
• Intel® Ethernet Converged Network Adapters XL710-QDA1(8086-1584): 1x40, 4x10

Looks like the XL710 can only do 2x10Gbps on each port. May be designed for failover scenarios.

E810 does seem to do 8x10G
