Greetings!

I have several devices that could use a good Fan swap in my home rack and I would like to stay away from stepping down voltage if possible. In the past I would look at amazon and ebay for 40mm fans (not the dinky 40x10 ones) and they have been hit or miss. Wondering what you guys here have found useful in terms of decent airflow and lower (not silent) noise.

The applications I am looking for are 3-pin to quiet down some Juniper EX3300/2200 switches, and 4-pin model for 1U supermicro D-1518. The D-1518 is of lesser concern but always looking for recommendations!

I dont need any - made an order at amazon right after you mentioned it chan1wong1. Looks like in the past I ordered Amazon.com: Sunon 40x40x20mm 3 pin fan #KDE1204PKVX: Computers & Accessories when the one you mentioned is Amazon.com: Sunon MagLev KDE1204PKV3.MS.AR.GN 40x20mm-3pin Locked Rotor Sensor Low-speed 5200RPM 6.3cfm *Only 18dBA: Computers & Accessories

The VX ones I ordered in the past were not much better then stock - hoping these V3's are (sounds like it too). Thanks a ton for the recommendation. I should be getting them later this week to test and report back

I love the Noctua, but they dont put out much air for where I want them to live (I use them for chipsets and smaller applications though). The one you linked for example is 4.8CFM, I am looking at the 40x20+ size because of the higher airflow.

The Sunon (louder model) sits around 10CFM while the quieter one is 6.3. I am hoping 6.3 is enough to adequately cool this switch, will see soon enough :)
