Also can someone share the differences between E0 and D0 chips? I understand E0 has "fewer bugs" but what are those bugs and any other change?
was provided to customers by DCL(NDA) at the lauch of E0 ES. imho no chance now.

How is this possible? Isn't memory bandwidth determined by memory freq and channel count?
You can compare the benchmark results of Dhamov/Josef and others even yourself, E
0 with 8channel 4800mhz memory should reach 250gb/s in read test.

D0 and E0 have different silicon wafer, so may have different IMC design.

Is there a table that shows which E0 CPU's actually work or?
we have to buy and test. mostly all sellers even don't know D0 is working on ASUS/ASRock W790
working: Q03J, to be continued
not work: Q0KG, to be continued

i expect all Q0K* do not work, but Q03* to Q08* could work,
available but untested(not complete list):
QO3K 56c 350W
Q03L 24c 350W
QO3Y 56c 350W
QO8T 24c 350W
QO3U 24c 350W
Q03V 24c 350W
QO3Y 56c 350W
QO3Z 56c 350W
Q08V 56c 350W

Too bad I've never come across a Q0KM...

Never seen Q03K, Q03Y, Q03Z, either, btw, which is why I only recommended the Q03J as E0 compatible with ASUS W790.

I don't even know how many bugs there are on the table.
On the first look it seemed to correlate with my experiences. And i like the idea of segregating in: tested, untested, probably works, probably does not work. Later i thought again about is this ebay offer of X13SEI and a Q03J, so i guess with some bios, it might work. Screenshot in offer is however made with MS73 board.

regular SPR-SP do not work on W790(not ASUS W790, not SM X13SRA)
only stepping D0 and some early E0.
Thank you very much for your response it does appear to have D0 stepping although its in chinese - images are attached, could this be of any use to you to help me guess if this could work for me? Thanks again for the help

yes this QYFU D0 ES2 work on ASRock WS W790.
this is not 8461v but similar. if you write 8461v i expect a prod.unit or QS.

Ok perfect thank you, sorry that is my bad there I forgot to mention that part. I don't suppose you know would this unit still allow stuff like the inbuilt thunderbolt ports, U.2 port and M.2 slots to still work, I can see stuff gets cut off on the boards designed for the 3400 series. Thanks again for this info, I've been browsing the whole thread but still felt unsure

i see only 64 PCIe 5.0 lanes connected, so all should be usable even with a W-2400
Thunderbolt and U.2 comes from PCH W790.

Ok that's perfect, I assume that I would also have full functionality of the W790-ACE too with this CPU if that's the case? just the W790-SAGE is crippled?
really appreciate the help, been looking to build something modern for a while now, I have the C621E Sage but this should be a nice upgrade
