You do have to use an older version of java. I have Java 7 Update 21 previously installed for other IPMI boards. It's working perfectly with the Intel S2600GL
Great info. I'm gonna grab one now with a spare PSU. Now can you confirm if the onboard SCU will pass through in ESXi or will I need 2 HBAs. I can't try anything out until RAM comes in on Monday.

Thanks for the link. I was actually looking at Supermicro ones which I heard were better quality. Unfortunately it's hard to find a cheap one with the SAS2 backplate.
I was actually just looking for a 2u 12 bay case. Now my concern is if I ever decide to replace the mobo/cpu. Not sure how easy it would be. Whether the case supports standard motherboards.
Ya, those are exactly the 2 things that I suspected. Older package date and V2 is not primarily indicated in the 2nd listing. I'm not sure what the version number difference means.
