It’s just the backplane. Is this just the backplane or full server chassis?
new deal, new thread please so it can be tracked and commented upon. Here’s a good deal on a CSE826 system from them. You’d need RAM, CPU’s, and an HBA.
Supermicro CSE-826 Chassis w/ X9DRI-LN4F+ Systemboard
If its like the 826 backplanes the bracket from another (SAS2) can probably be removed and installed on the SAS3 backplane (unless they moved the screw holes which I tend to doubt)Just received tracking, pleasantly surprised. Emailed support before ordering to ask if metal bracket included, but no response yet. Will update after receipt (eta Sat 11/5).
Bummer, sad I missed out on this deal.I contacted them yesterday and they now want $475.
Rec'd today: good packaging, frame included.
with 1 SFF-8087 uplink its the v1 @ SAS3 speeds, so it should be able to do up to 250MB/s per drive, which is about the fastest a spinner will goFor HDD though any difference in perf?
I think you meant SAS1 ?not really a perf increase, there is a throughput increase. Not really viewable from a performance perspective as you are still limited by spinning disks.
the big difference is that you can use larger disks than sas2 version that is basically limited to a few large disks or 24 2 TB disks
