2690v4 is somewhat better but o/c still far.
6134 is basically the 2667 of old...

But you're probably right, there are other options available at the $400 pricepoint with 8 cores (and pcie lanes), so if you dont need the other Skylake features then its not attractive any more.

don't forget that the CPU is just a fraction of the cost of a platform around those Scalable Gold units. At that cost you can also get a second gen Epyc platform using a 7282 or 7302 with double the performance, double the PCIe lanes (and PCIe 4.0), nearly triple the max memory capacity

Never looked much into Epyc, didnt think they had high frequency models.

But yes, if more cores work for your workload then o/c these old gen Xeons are a lost cause, just didnt think that this was the case for the majority yet:)
