Was $325 originally, but then they bumped the price after I put in an offer. Offered $250 and they countered at $300 with a note saying that that's the lowest they can go.

Yep, was considering Avoton/Rangeley boards, but couldn't pass that up. No IO shield included unfortunately though.

Yes, but overkill for most really. You can get lower power options since presumably you don't need 10GbE?

This is an awesome deal if you can get it for $300 as stated earlier in this thread. I've been eyeing the Pentium D1508 version and that is selling at $330 from US based re sellers.

Price raised to $450 and I've received a buy it now counter-offer for $365. I think I'm going to pass. This makes it more expensive than the D1508 I've been eyeing and it has almost double the wattage. This is going in a small server tucked in the corner of my living space, so cool and quiet is the name of the game.

Board showed up and it seems it's the newer version with the Xeon-D 1521 instead of 1520, so happy about that since it's the highest clocked Xeon-D available. Now to find an IO shield that isn't $25.

Just in case there is still need for an IO shield, just found these for <$10.
Not sure what international p&p will be though
Have used this supplier in Germany to ship to Australia.. IS reliable and good pricing.. I think that i/o shiled is for a specific 1u case, not the one for general? ( hope to be wrong)..

Hm, you might be correct - its listed as optional component on the x10sdv boards - question is whether it will *not* work in a regular chassis (i doubt that) or whether its just needed on the 1U's due to specific airflow considerations.

What cases are you running these in ?
Kinda making me a bit nervous not having a heat-sink fan on it.
