Looking for a rack between 24U-32U spaces. Located in Los Angeles so prefer locals but don't mind paying shipping cost for the right price. Maximum depth of 35"

Thank you in advance!

If you aren't in a rush to get one just watch craigslist. I'm in the same area as you, watched craigslist for 2 months and found a Dell 24U practically new for free.

I vote to buy on craiglist since you are living in the big city due on easy to get a good deal on server rack.
you will save $$$$$$ on shipping and rack price.

are you sure? No Luck
you should score easily within 2-3 months!! if you do not mind driving 40-60miles one way

Yeah I'll be patient and wait until one pops up. I was getting ready to buy one from eBay for $550 shipped but I'll wait. Thanks all for the advice

Now take that extra money you saved and buy one of the 2U Intel barebones to put in it....

I love the new ones with the split doors and mesh, they are right up there with the HP racks in terms of quality and build :)

I'm waiting for my M6 cage screws to arrive so I can mount the rest of my gear. What brand screws do you guys use? I ordered StarTech from Amazon and they were $30 for 50pcs o_O

Also, does anyone know if the Supermicro tooless rails work with other 4U cases or just Supermicro? I would love to have those, build quality is amazing.

I get mine from eBay. I doubt the SM rails work with other bands of cases. I'd be highly surprised if they do.

That looks like an 'old-school' APC netshelter rack, sturdy and should do the job, bit hefty I bet though right?

The black painted/ enameled screws and cup washers look pretty, but functionally, they are no different to any old bright steel screw with a pan head and flat washer. I just prefer using stainless ones so that any galvanic reaction with the crappy cage nuts is kept to a minimum and it's not really any more expensive when buying from a proper hardware wholesaler either. Quite apart from that, what you were going to pay for them was OTT. If I recall, even Navepoint sell them on amazon for less than half that :)
