Hello! Looking for a DELL EMC SD-WAN EDGE 640. The 680 is even better and possibly the 620 is also an option. The main purpose is to reduce the power usage of my current all in one server that is running ESXI with OPNsense and several VM's. I will just boot that server when needed and use the DELL 640 as a router running OPNsense. I would like the 640 (or 680) since they have 10Gbps which I would like to have for the LAN. Any other r low power options suitable as router with 10Gbps are also of interest. Have found a few 640 in US and UK but I would prefer it to be within EU.

You'll have a hard time finding them in EU.
Apart from the fact that the 680 (aka VEP 1485) is nowhere to be found, all the others appliances I've found so far are sold from US or UK and highly overpriced.
You know, the STH Effect ™

Keep an eye on eBay. I'm going to stop at quantity 3, so you'll have less competition. :) Here are my recent finds:

Edge 640 (Dell ship date Oct-05-2020) $124.23 on Jul-14-2022
Edge 640 (Dell ship date Aug-23-2021) $96.30 on Jul-20-2022
Edge 680 (Dell ship date Jan-30-2021) $106.99 on Sep-14-2023 (#374930763212)

These were all US sellers. Prices include shipping and taxes. All are the white vmware-branded case. None came with any accessories. They require a standard 12V @ 5A power adapter with 5.5x2.1 (5.5x2.5 for 680) plug. Based on my tests, 2A should be adequate without load on the USB.

I got brave and swapped the included 256GB (750mA) SSD's to 512GB (950mA). That required removing the heatsink to gain access. Larger m.2 SATA drives typically consume more power (1.7A) than I was willing to risk. There's also high demand for 1TB+ name-brand m.2 SATA since they're no longer made.

I got even braver and removed the Wi-Fi modules (1A) and replaced with NVMe drives (1~1.9A). The NVMe only operates using a single PCIe lane, but still pretty fast. I'm hoping the x1 also reduces the power consumption. USB storage would have been (electronically) safer, but not as tidy or efficient. According to Dell, there are no field-upgradable parts inside. I have no idea how much power the 3.3V rail can supply or whether the m.2 and mini-PCIe slots have separate protections. I'm probably just paranoid.

If you don't need video encode/decode or output, these are really nice servers.

Here's the eBay search I've been using:

(dell,vmware) edge (wle600vx,e42w,620,640,680) -(power,poweredge,latitude,cable,caddy,tray,610,bmw,kit)

You'll have to decide on the maximum price. There are also older VEP14x5 units out there, but I've never seen a good deal.
