I got a supermicro X10DRi motherboard
right now working fine with two E5-2650L v4 + 32GB*16 RAM

I just saw the price for E5 2696 v4 is affordable by me now.
and want to buy two and upgrade my home lab.

but I notice one thing, the E5 2696 v4 is a 150W TDP CPU
and X10DRi is only support 145W TDP

the question I want to ask is,
has anyone try this before?
if you do have both of above hardware, could you please help verify it.
Thank you in advance.

The Netherlands, Groningen
big chances it will support, because the 5watt difference is very small. and your new cpu is v4 version.

but the cooling and airflow in your cumputer case has te be very good to keep cpu as cool as possible

E5-2696v4 has TDC of 199A which may not supported by the X10DRi.
(standard TDC/ICC_MAX is 142Amps)
same story than the custom OEM 240W scalable LGA3647 SKUs
