Hi All,
I have a x9 2U FatNode server (only two nodes not 4). Unfortunately the setup is SATA only.
Does anyone know what options are there for using SAS drives ?.
The back plane does not even have any SATA / SAS connectors, everything comes through the node connection riser.
Thanks
Additional... Seems the drive backplane is SAS / SATA but the node backplane is SATA only hence the recognition of only SATA drives. I am having a bit of trouble finding the part number for a SAS version of that board.
I have found the Supermicro BPN-ADP-SAS2-L6i but this seems to be build for a differnt motherboard, although same chassis / backplane. There is also the Supermicro BPN-ADP-SAS2-H6iR which also may work but at US$250 seems like a non starter. Having SAS compatibility would be nice but not critical.
