Hey all -

I recently wrote up a blog post after buying another Supermicro X9DRi-LN4F+ only to find out that the eBay seller had not checked for a BIOS password. After experimenting with all of the suggestions on STH and other blogs I was unable to get it to clear. I tried CMOS battery removal, JBT1 shorting, etc. and no luck. I was finally able to get it to clear by doing a BIOS upgrade through IPMI UI and choosing not to preserve any elements of the upgrade, etc. It's better written up on my blog if you would care to read more!

Thanks to all on this forum who have posted and helped with various results on this issue in the past!

Hello.
I have the same issue but my IPMI firmware seems to be too old update BIOS thru it and for some reason I cannot update it.
What Firmware Revision do you have? I have 2.08

Got my firmware here for IPMI: Firmware Resources | Support
File Name:SMT_X9_348.zip

Attached pics of my issue.

Any help would be much appreciated.
