Was looking to build a cheap but compact hypervisor for the home lab. Stumbled across a BlackFriday deal on the ROME ROMED4ID-2T for $330. So reading older posts on the ROME based EPYC 7d12 mostly sourced from Chinese ebayers. Gave me the idea for a build in the NR200 with a low power itx(ish) formfactor, pulled the trigger on the 7d12 for $120. I just received both, torqued down the chip and confirmed successful boot with 4x SK Hylinx 64GB 2133 dimms.

Motherboard: ASROCK RACK ROMED4ID-2T (BMC 1.08.00) (UEFI P3.30)
CPU: AMD EPYC 7D12
RAM: 4x 64GB (SK Hynix 4DRx4 PC4-2133-LEO-11) EDIT: Dual rank modules are throwing ECC errors replaced with QR micron lrdimms and its working better.

Might the issues these 7d12 chips have with SK Hynix be most all of it is 4DRx4?

Not sure this is helpful but this build will be perfect for my home needs!

I was planning system around same parts (7d12 + romed4), but after research I found motherboard use C,D,G,H memory channels and 7d12 is 4 channel memory cpu with A,B,E,F in use.

@AXm77 seems like it boots fine anyway according to the OP? If the channel orders were wrong you wouldn't have ECC errors, it just wouldn't boot.
@omnibus what's idle power look like?

Along these lines CDGH work on my MZ32 for regular ECC DIMM but for the life of me I can't get an LRDIMM to post. Has anyone tried LRDIMMs with any success?

What kind of NIC? Mine can't even squeeze out 10GBE speeds to save its life. I'm thinking the CPU might be the culprit. I'm using ESXi
