So considering I am not using the ADDC comp for general DNS, but only for AD connected clients, what would be an appropriate DNS forwarder entry?

That depends on where you’re located. Typically, you’d use your ISP’s DNS servers. Or you might want to add some DNS servers that are close geographically. I typically put in one of the ISP’s and then Google’s DNS, and maybe Cloudflare.

Used Quad9, as the rest of my local lan does, via the router.
Looks ok, now lets see if the disconnect thingie happens again.
