Saw this today: Amazon killing cloud?

Was reading sme of the finance stuff:

Basically Dana is saying that Amazon getting in front of cloud is killing Rackspace and Redhat.

I don't really know about that. You can get RHEL on Amazon and pay for it. RH has to get some of that money. I'd imagine Amazon does make it harder for lots of small infrastructure companies but seems like Rackspace, Microsoft and Google have enough resources to try making a dent. And of course HP and IBM always there too.

Hopefully OK to discuss news and stuff here. Might be fun.

No issues discussing news (especially on-topic news like that).

I do think that article was written just to get clicks by those that are tracking Amazon, Rackspace and RedHat. Amazon does have a great position now but in very few industries is there really a monopoly.

On the RedHat side I see less of the competition as you mention.
