Yup, I did see that. But if I want to use something tdarr, having b frame support will come in handy.
I use tdarr myself so yes that would be a good use case. But I still don't think the A4000 is worth anywhere near twice the price of the RTX 4000 given this use case.

I wondered about this site and its credibility
Shopblt runs like a wholesale. The customers need patience: I ordered a Kingston SSD from it with a 14 business days ETA, but around 28 to 30 days to get the item after the order date.

Their return policy seems to be pretty strict in my opinion... 30 day window? Especially for defective products?

I mean how long do you need to test to ensure your device is working? That's pretty typical.

I was thinking what happens after that window. But that 30 days could be the same for all internet sites... I'm used to brick and mortar 1 year warranties.

What brick and mortar electronics store allows you to return products within a year? 30 days is very typical and after that you deal with the manufacturer warranty.

shopblt is legit but plan on the shipping estimates being 10x what you're quoted for a current GPU. you'll be lucky to see that "11 day" order in 110 days. Ask anyone who ordered an RTX30x0 series from them that's still waiting > 1 year later. I'm pretty sure they were quoting 11 days a couple of months ago when I ordered mine, actually.

I dropped an RTX A4K in my plex box and have no regrets. I did get it for $1200 during a fleeting moment it was in stock, and while it's not doing plex/transcode duty it's mining ethereum making some of its value back.

The blower design doesn't "suck" as someone else stated and it runs cool enough, mining, at 80% fan.

It's the perfect card for a future proofed plex build, don't let anyone tell you otherwise:
1. single slot
2. low power
3. high VRAM (for 4k transcodes, either now or later on)
4. power connectors on the edge of the card, not the top - compatibility with servers (including 1u boxes)
5. full HEVC, 8k, b-frames, AV1, etc support

The closest you get is an RTX 4000, which was going to cost me nearly as much as the A4000 and has half the VRAM.
