Wow! I think total I don't even have 1TB deployed at a given time.

Then again with 8GB UDIMM pricing... 16GB RDIMMs are looking very reasonable since you get them at a $/GB discount.

64 DIMM slots is the most available that I know of: Supermicro | Products | SuperServer | 5U | 5086B-TRF

Hold on to the 11 leftover as spares ;-)

I never realised the DL985 G7 had that many DIMMs

HP now and then promised to support up to 4TB RAM in that box. That's big enough to hold a 100,000,000,000 row data warehouse fact table!

I could have been a millionaire a few days ago if I had taken my friends advice and put a few thousand on a horse, I didn't and my excuse after was I don't need to buy anything of that value. But looking at this post I would have loved to sit there and fill 128 DIMM slots
