Nice post. Might be a good deal for international shipping.

Ive seen these fairly regularly for $300, and once in a while drop to $250 and sell out fast.

I don’t know where is Newegg finding so much stock of these Optane drives. Didn’t Intel like stop production years ago?

Id assume from buying up stock that mostly enterprise vendors have had sitting, they will not dump it through their own channels.

I wouldn't put it past them to sell fakes as well. It would be interested to know if any of the warranties for any with issues gets denied or not as that would be the sign. Although if Intel doesn't even know/care and still warranties them then I guess that's okay?

Feeling a bit of fomo but what do I need one for?
I was eyeing some for esxi nvme memory tiering and slog drives.
But sourced some very cheap P4800x cards instead, so now i got no idea what id use some of these for. (but i still want some tbh)

As a boot/os device for the pc that you or your significant other use on a daily basis. (For me it makes windows + my daily tools feel "snappier" :D)
Yea, I have a WD SN770 2TB as a boot drive in my daily drive and it definitely makes it snappier.

Same here. I feel the want but not the need.
I'm with you here.

I generally don't buy this kind of deal because if I come up with an actual need, then I have to purchase multiple, so that each server in various clusters gets configured the same way. Now, if these were $100, I'd certainly grab 3-5 on the off-chance I might figure out a need someday. But not at $300 each.

A good example is that I've been planning a primary hardware upgrade (motherboard, CPU, RAM) on a few servers, and am fairly sure about what I will use, and a one-off on my targeted CPU showed up on eBay at 33% below my search price. I didn't pull the trigger because I likely won't be able to make the time and justify the rest of the spending until next summer.
