The real fix is not caring about fan speeds :) let them do their thing.

Less stress.

Just move it to the garage, shop, warehouse, basement, wherever and let them do it.

IMHO, the likelihood of overheating is super small using a 'name brand' non-DIY chassis.

I hope he adequately protected that unshielded 110/240V PSU after removing the case!

Netgear XS716T is virtually silent when not under significant load.
