I've been watching and waiting for these to hit review sites and pricing.

• DXS-1210-12TC:
• 8-port 10GBASE-T
• 2-port SFP+
• 2-port 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo
• DXS-1210-12SC:
• 10-port 10G SFP+
• 2-port 10GBASE-T/SFP+ combo

D-Link DXS-1210-12TC Web Smart 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch Introduced D-Link DXS-1210-12TC D-Link, DXS-1210-12TC, Web Smart 10 Gigabit Ethernet Switch
12-Port 10-Gigabit copper WebSmart Switch | D-Link

These are nice count for small labs (Instead of Gnodal), but price is high since new. $2300 for the -12TC is what the review said.

The 10-port SFP+ model sounds interesting.
According to the datasheet, power consumption is pretty good: 25.22 W standby, 43.81 W max.

Apparently there's another model in this series:
DXS-1210-10TS with 8-port 10GBASE-T and 2-port SFP+, which will be a little cheaper than the DXS-1210-12TC.

I'm still only interested in the 10-port SFP+ model though, as it would go great with all the Brocade 1020s I bought last year.

I did some digging and it looks like a couple of sites are already listing these switches:
The DXS-1210-10TS and DXS-1210-12SC go for around $ 1100 and the DXS-1210-12TC for around $ 1450.

I imagine prices will drop even further once they become widely available, which IMHO makes them very interesting for a 10G home lab.

Oh and here are some pictures:

Yeah I am really interested in these for the size, power, and noise level. I have a short depth wall rack for my network gear so the full depth enterprise gear doesn't fit in there... My netgear does as would this I think.

Hmmmm... I had network gear on the docket for 2015. Maybe I will see if I can find a press contact.

Canada Eh?
Very nice. The DXS-1210-12SC would make nice top of rack switch, with the ability to do 10gbit uplinks to the rest of the house once it becomes cost effective. I wonder what its power consumption would be like if say 1/2 the links were not used (or is green mode more of a 10GBase-T thing)

I'm interested in these as well, in particular the DXS-1210-12TC.

Did anyone buy these, any further feedback on performance, manageability, noise level? Thanks.

The DXS-1210-12SC definitely look interesting, but I want static routing, and that will only come in "a future firmware release". Also tried to find it in Sweden but no luck so far. The small form factor and low power consumption compared to the larger enterprise switches is compelling if the price is right.

So apparently the dxs-1210-12sc is available now - I am looking for a 10G Switch with more than 4 ports and this seems perfect but I've read that this "Sounds like a Jet Engine" at idle even though the Specs say that the Fans are Dynamic based on ambient temp. Interestingly enough the Specs don't mention anything about the noise level so I am suspecting that this might be the case.

We were also considering the Dell x4012 which is another 12 port SFP+ Unit but with the experience we've had with the x1052p and the lack of copper ports they would have to pretty much give us one.

I mean @Pete L. for the price of a $1200 DXS-1210-12SC if it is going to be loud you can get a quanta LB6M used and a new DGS-1510-28X.

I heard these are power hogs and noisy? The Dells are quiet and very, very good on power just can't get myself past their crappy support and the buggy GUI on theirs. The D-Link is also great on power, not sure about the noise level though.

Well if you ask me what I'd hope would be better 3 months out - the one supported by Dell or D-Link the Dell would be my preference.

D-Link is offered a 30 Day Evaluation Period for these and apparently other products in their lines. The funny thing after going back and forth with them for about a week trying to arrange an eval unit they just tell me to buy one from a reseller and return it within 30 days if you don't want it. It was a huge waste of time with one exception I did get the following information from them about their 10G SFP+ Switch when it comes to noise level.
DXS-1210-12SC
Acoustic at fan high speed 50.2 db
Acoustic at fan low speed 39.2 db
Acoustic at fan stop n/a
