Offbeat question: does anyone know what switch chip is used on the Netgear GS110EMX switch? This is their new(ish) 8x Gbe + 2x "Multigig" (1/2.5/5/10 Gbe) copper switch.

Anyway to find out via the web UI or do I need to open it up? I have one of them at home

Nothing I've found from the WebUI. I have one too, but I don't really want to crack it open. If they had an SSH port on it I could find out in less than 30 seconds...but they don't.

I dont hugely mind about voiding the warranty so can do that this weekend for you, Due to you having the same as me.....does the right side of yours run REALLY damn warm? (where the Multi gigabit ports are)

I have both ports in use with 10GBe nics on the other end (Intel 540) though they dont have a huge amount of traffic passing through them just burst as things copy from server to server

Its currently sitting as a kind of Add/Drop on my desk. I have a NAS with 10Gbase-T on the desk with the 10G link "passing through" this switch - with the other links currently connected to a small nodes running as a K8s cluster. Its overkill.

I'm curious about the chipset for completely unrelated reasons.
