I obtained the latest 1.25 bios from support, but when I am trying to flash it from UEFI shell I can't seem to actually get into the UEFI shell. I select the option from the bios menu, it briefly flashes the screen then returns right back to the menu. I can't seem to load the UEFI shell, any ideas?

The same happening to me, I'm on default 1.17, cannot enter UEFI shell or disable secure boot (it is greyed out). Any guide how to disable secure boot?

Does anyone know / have access to the change logs for bios 1.25 that you are talking about ?
Also, did anyone heard when or if they would incorporate Intel 0x12B microcode anytime soon ?

Can anyone share their 1.25 BIOS via PM? Did the one they sent you force disable power management like below?

There is 2 versions, that Disable All Power Save is the second version of 1.25, the first version of 1.25 is only Disabled SAGV default.

AHWSA_Ver1.25_DISABLE_SAGV_9_9.zip MD5: 4BC8A4E22D5FCB33C4DE2FAC6FB201CC

AHWSA_Ver1.25_DISABLE_ALL_POWER_SAVE.zip MD5: D94AE83E16AC6BE667DE51C07DFE0946 (I am saying this one is version 2)

Yep I had this too, you need to boot from a fresh shutdown. (not just from restart)

So power off (shutdown)

Then turn on and hit DEL key when you see the logo, and choose UEFI Shell

Are there plans to release the new bios file soon?
I'd like to know this too - I feel if there is an issue and you paid good money then you should allow people to download a potential fix.

It's good that they are trying to fix it, but not even 1.24 was released publicly and this helps uses with older SSDs.

Mine came with 1.22 that was released early this year. :(

So no public download for BIOS, we have to reach out to support or share within our community?

Other than a big scare where my MS-01 didnt want to power back on after I lost power from the Hurricane its been super stable for me running PFSense and it was probably an early release.

I have a 2nd one on the way that I want to use for Proxmox, and that one I think I will update first, especially as I have seen some posts suggjesting there are some stability issues with the exact same setup I plan to try.

You might be able to run it from a formatted USB thumbdrive: GitHub - rezzorix/minisforum-bios-updates: Firmware updates minisforum Mini PC series
I have updated my NPB5 this way, might work for the MS-01 also.

I'd like to know that too. I haven't received my MS-01 yet, but would like to have it in advance :)

Disclaimer I am not responsible for any bad flashes.

I flashed this successfully with no issues. Attached instructions (0-HOW TO FLASH.txt) since it is not included in 1.26. Release_Note.txt contains all changes with each version including the latest 1.26 released 2024/10/14. Flashing will reset all your bios settings to defaults.

Here is the download for the latest version straight from Minisforum:

Here is what the flash will look like:

Thanks for posting this! Did you have to do anything special to the flash drive you loaded it on? I followed the instructions but when I am in the BIOS and hit UEFI Shell the screen goes black and then I just get dumped back into the BIOS after a few seconds.

Just make a uefi boot usb flash and copy the files to it. I had the same issue just unplug any other usbs go into the bios, boot and select the usb you created. It should launch you into shell. Fs0: then ls to list files. Fs1: fs2: until you find your usb.

Thanks. I am updating 1 of my 2 machines now and that is exactly what I did. Not sure why the built-in shell won't work but whatever.
