Mellanox ConnectX-3 Windows 11

None of Nvidia's WinOF drivers support Windows 11. I tried to install a Win10 driver and it gave errors, like 1719 "Windows Installer service could not be started." Upon trying to close out the failed installation, I can't even close it, it gives 2732 "Directory Manager not initialized"... Pretty screwed up and has little chance of working.

Does anyone know if ConnectX-3's are simply dead on arrival for Windows 11?

Not evern two weeks ago I flashed multiple vpi cx-3 to ethernet only on a win 11 machine without problems...

OK that's good to know. Well I'll try the mst installer i guess. What were the driver packages that you installed?

I had kind of lost track of the fact that I was really only evaluating Win11 and not committing to it. This would have held me back. But it seems like there's a way to make it work?

You are correct. I was able to install this with no incident. Very bizarre that I did not attempt to install the latest package initially.

The W11 experiment is proceeding swimmingly...

Hi, using that driver in Windows 11, is there a capability to setup multiple VLANs in a similar way to the way Intel's PROset used to let us?

(there is a workaround to use hyper-v but trying to avoid that if possible). Thanks,

There is a VLAN tab in the driver dialog like it was before PROset.

are you getting 10gb speeds with this card? my Intel x520's get 2.5gb in windows 10/11/server 2022 but if I boot in parted magic, I get 9.4gb so it is definitely driver related. So I am trying the connectx-3's but waiting for them to be delivered still.

I'm surprised you're having driver issues with the Intel X-520 in Windows. Intel has pretty decent driver support for the consumer versions of Windows.

The problem with Intel and Windows 11 is they've deprecated their PROset utility so their cards won't have VLAN/teaming unless Hyper-V services's VMSwitch is used.

I remember I tried to use Intel's PowerShell NIC libraries but couldn't get it to work.

as mentioned, i was able to get the NIC working in Windows 10, Windows 11, Server 2022 but iperf was only getting 2.5gb and a file copy (22gb file) was getting 400mb-500mb which does translate to 2.5gb...

I am getting the issue in Win10 as well. I did not install PROset and will give that a try but it is just my plex box...

turns out it is the Intel x520 drivers... what a pita and such a shame that I bought 4 cards I am not going to use!!!

I purchased 2x Mellanox ConnectX-3 EN cards and BOOM... we are good to go..
just ordered 3 more, so now I can let yall know....

Windows - ConnectX-3
Everything else - Intel (even esxi 8 installed and sees 10gb on Intel)

Mellanox connectx-3 cards came in... well intel i was getting 2.5gb from win11 to win10.. or win11 to server 2022 or server 2022 to server 2022... so any configuration was 2.5gb..
now 2 mellanox in server 2022 talks to windows 10 at 9.4gb...
just got my other mellanox in and only getting 5gb from my win11 to that same win10.. just checked and server 2022 is talking 9.4gb to that win10.. ughhh

I have an MSI z690-A DDR4 board. It states it has 3x pcie x16 slots.. so i have video card closest to CPU.... then i did farthest.. i just moved it closer to GPU and BOOM...
