    i am planning to get 5 servers Supermicro | Products | SuperServers | 2U | 6027R-CDNRT+
    to make ceph storage cluster

and i would like to know if i can connect m.2 pcie adapter (with 4 m2 connector) to a single pcie lane

    the motherboard supports
    • 1x PCI-E 3.0 x16 (FHHL),
    • 2x PCI-E 3.0 x8 (FHHL), and
    • 1x PCI-E 3.0 x8 (LP)
    supermicro link to chassis Supermicro | Products | SuperServers | 2U | 6027R-CDNRT+
    motherboard pdf https://www.supermicro.com/manuals/motherboard/C606_602/MNL-1612.pdf
in page 89 there are indication for Bifurcation support,

    planned pcie usage:
    1. mellanox card 2*40 GB
    2. m2 pcie risser to support 4 nvme drives (two for os)
    3. intel optane for WAL journaling
    4. spare
anyone did use a pcie to 4 m2 adapter and made it work? if so what model brand you suggest
