Best price I've seen on these. Seems like DDR4 and SSDs are trending downward pretty good right now? I think I'll wait but in case somebody is looking for something sooner...

I saw that today, asked for drive health but still no answer.
I got a very quick response to an email this morning. Radio silence after I offered $1k for 20. :p

In any case, odds are the health is decent since these are fairly high endurance, and worst case, returns are free. On the other hand, I've been seeing SM863 1.92TB (3.5 DWPD vs 3 DWPD) going for ~$80, so I'm going to wait it out a bit.

eBay. Search SM863 1.92TB and sort by price. A lot of 5 went for $405 last night. BIN/BO listings are around $120. One of them at $125 is open box/0 hours. Try making some offers.

It was at $300 in the last few seconds. I bid $401 but somebody beat me to the punch with a higher bid.

Same seller has some listed BIN/BO and countered $100/ea immediately. Maybe he'll go closer to $80 after that auction.

Hard to resist the urge of trying some offers :D

But already got 60+ 960 now so dont really want to start down the road of replacing all with 1.92 either.

I got lots of 1.92TB, 23 on my desk, and 24 more coming this week from use in productions 1.92 in norway I'm trying to figure out what to use for ;)

Also bunch of the 960s

kinda feel bad for using 960s/1.92 for zil/slog and boot drives.

You keep hoarding more drive bays/hosts and keep expanding, thats how to use them.

The somewhat plus of Norway is the slow/cheap shipping from US almost keeps the impulse buying of hosts under control.
+ the almost unlimited ddr4 you can grab off finn at about 6000-6500 Norwegian per tb.

kinda feel bad for using 960s/1.92 for zil/slog and boot drives.
i know that feeling, got some 6000/2600 pcie cards as db/wal for spinners atm in lack of deciding on a cheaper option.

The S3610 are great drives. I have a small array of these and always grab a few when they go on sale to add more storage. This is a great price for this particular drive as they routinely go for $140+.

FWIW, these are very rugged drives. I've never received one with more than 1% wearout on eBay, and I got some for free from a local enterprise who used them in a write heavy application and didn't want to charge for them. The wearout was... 2% ;-) Anything with bad sectors I would return of course.

Seller accepted $90/ea instantly for 4, should have started lower

They declined my offer of $75 each for qty 12 the other day. I think prices are going to drop a fair bit over the next few weeks.

Note those are PM863 which have a small fraction of the SM863's endurance...
