I think this is the link

You need to check Include Legacy Products under Product Group at

The results come back with a P16 v17.00.00.00. I'm not sure if that is the last version even though there is no description for 9300_8i like it is for v16.00.10.00.

There are 1100 entries under firmware. I searched for "lsi 9300-8i" and got a hodge podge of mostly garbage.

I flashed my card several weeks ago and the firmware files were not difficult to find. I'm sure you can do it.

But it is confusing though.

File nameSize
SAS3_UEFI_BSD_P14 v16.00.00.00550 KB
SAS3IRCU_P16 v17.00.00.006 MB
9300_8i_Package_P16_IR_IT_FW_BIOS_for_MSDOS_Windows v16.00.00.002.5 MB
Installer P16 for UEFI, MSDOS, Windows, Linux v17.00.00.00353 KB, 507KB, 910KB

Not sure what's what. I can only surmise the installer is the flasher, 9300_8i_Package is the firmware for IT, IR. Not sure about SAS3_UEFI_BSD, SAS3IRCU.

This is true. The names are confusing. I ended up downloading all files that might contain anything of interest, and looking at their contents. If you look at the flashing tutorial @Patrick published for IBM's version of the card (https://www.servethehome.com/flash-lsi-sas-3008-hba-e-g-ibm-m1215-mode/) you will quickly find all the necessary files.

As for IT and IR versions, the names indicate different modes of operation for the card. IT firmware implements Host Bus Adapter (HBA) mode, where the connected drives are directly accessible by the OS. This is the mode you want to use for ZFS. IR firmware implements RAID algorithms on the card.

You'll find many posts on the forum with much better explanation of the differences.

I looked inside the archives and Installer_... are the flashers. 9300_8i_Package contains the IT/IR firmwares along with the "HII" firmware, which I assume is the bootup ROM. UEFI_BSD_P14 is older than what's inside the 8i package so that can be ignored. The SAS3IRCU is the host software for many OSes.

Good call! The file I mentioned only included for BSD
