8 @ 115 declined.

$200 is pretty good but nowhere near the Newegg deals.

I don't believed the SSD from Newegg were refurb, there were zero scratch on the Newegg SSD drives.
Newegg could not sell it as new, due the drive does not have retail SKU or warranty from Intel.

my cases were mint also. however they had SMART data of 5.6 TB of writes. A drop in the bucket.

Don't worry though. you still have my vote for find of the year!

OEM XS is no warranty from Intel. So these have a worse warranty than the Newegg ones.

How did you get HD Sentinel Pro to check smart data?
I use the same version, and not seeing any smart data at all.

Now I am curious and want to check it.

SMARTMON Tools for windows works really easily too.

Right click drive "Long Test" (<15m)
Wait...
Right click drive "SMART INFO"

Might take 3-10 seconds to pull it...

(Long Test isn't required, but I'd rather have as much info in there)

I have the same Intel raid card in the shippig box, but not having time to install it yet.

I used the build in Intel C602 PCH controller, and not seeing the smart data. Interesting.

I've found that with OEMXS the length of time that they have had the product seems to impact their willingness to negotiate. If they have 940 available (that ought to be a crime!!!!!), give it a little time, and assuming they don't move quickly, they'll be a lot more likely to take less.

Honestly, I've found them to be very reasonable on all but one offer I have ever made-- and on that item, they were WAY overpriced. I received a blank decline (no message, no counter), and they still have it posted several months later at an outlandish price... But I get a little chuckle every time I see it on their page.

With 940 to sell, I'd say they'll take a little while to move, and then the deals will get a bit better. If I were them, on a supply like that, I'd try and hold out a while at the higher price too... To gauge demand, if nothing else.

I sure wish I knew how to buy whole pallets of things like this from companies like Intel!

Speaking of related items- anyone know their lowest price on the 12gb/s expanders? (RES3CV360) currently marked at $400.

Naeblis-
In discussions with my wife re: this. She's wanting me to add capacity in another area, so I am trying to figure out the budget constraints.
