HP ProLiant DL360 G7 - Max Config - $500

This is an auction style but no bids: HP Proliant DL360 G7 2X 6 Core X5690 3 47GHz 48GB 6X120GB SSD 2x146GB 15K | eBay $500 right now with 5 days to go.

Here's what I like about it: X5690 which were fast for their day. 48GB RAM which is nice.

Listing says 4x 1Gb and an addon 2x 10Gb SFP adapter.

Redundant PSU

6x 120GB SSDs. They are 3G but Samsung and 2x 146GB SAS SSDs. Since SAS drives has a P410i controller

Internals show redundant fans too.

Looks like a really nice box and you could probably part it out for more. The X5690's are still selling for $200+ each. 6x drives even if you got $30 for each is $180 and that's more than the current price.

Could sell the procs and drop in low power ones and have a nice cluster manager node ... the price difference would almost pay for the box.

I normally would not recommend buying such old hardware but... this is solid kit.

Well... I hate to be snobby... but at this point I don't even look at SB-E for builds...
Shifting all all G7 to lower tasks like load generation/node managers.

I am kicking myself for not picking up 2 of these when I had the chance. They would have been perfect for my Hyper-V cluster lab, but I procrastinated and lost out.
