Edit: 2019-03-25, Someone is dumping these in lots of 10 @ $20/card. "More than 10 (lots) available."
Lot (10) $150 +$50 shipping

Here's a great deal for my fellow HP homelabbers. This is the lowest price I've ever seen on C-X3 Pro RoCE v2 cards. They'll almost certainly cross flash to 56Gb VPI. The standard PCIe version of this card sells for $110-200, $31 is an absolute steal.

These work on the DL360/380P series. Officially they support Gen9+ but I picked a couple up to drop in my Gen8 servers, I'm fairly certain they'll work just fine.

FlexLOM cards use a nonstandard dimension and possibly pinout, they won't work in anything except an HP FlexLOM slot. They're HP's modular/swappable lan-on-motherboard module for their performance oriented servers.

well that sucks. I'm trying to eek out more performance for my 10GB network as I have huge backup jobs that take hours and I want to reduce to minutes

My test card came in today but I'm knocked down with the flu. If I get super motivated while shambling around the house like a plague zombie I'll plug in my Gen8 and test it out, otherwise it might be a couple of days.

Maybe something like a Brocade ICX 6610 or 6650 if you only need to link a handful at 40Gb and can run 10Gb otherwise. Otherwise there's the Mellanox SX6012 or SX6018 if you want to take the plunge and DIY hack the firmware to run the full Mellanox OS and VPI mode. I own one of those SX6012s but haven't had the hobby hacking time to convert it yet.

Sorry, 10+ port 40GbE is out of my price range beyond things like the DIY EMC >> Mellanox conversion.
