HP Enterprise NVME (U.2) additional port question

Picked up a used HP Enterprise NVME (U.2) 1.92TB drive and on the edge of it there is a different port.
I am thinking this port is for (a)battery/power backup and/or (b)some HP monitoring port.

So what is it, and if it is (a) then what is the port's name and the pin-outs?

More likely this port is for firmware updates or some kind of maintenance on the drive. My micron 9200 pro has something similar but smaller
