I didn't write one up to be honest. I only use it as an unmanaged switch, but I have no complaints. It transfers at 10gb no problem, isn't picky about transceivers and power consumption is fine (it doesn't seem to get super warm to the touch).
My issue with it (GoodTop) is that you can't mix 1G, 2.5G, and 10G all at the same time.

8 ports is a bit overkill for my needs, but 4-5 port version would be nice...anyone aware of one? (Basically looking for a cheaper version of the MikroTik CRS305, I guess).

If you want 10G, the 8 port GoodTop is only $99 on Amazon right now and $70 cheaper than the 5 port they have listed on their website. Otherwise there is a 2.5G 5 port for $35 on Amazon.

Just keep in mind my note that this switch can't mix 1G, 2.5G, and 10G all at the same time. That is, you get 1G/10G or 2.5G/10G for all ports, not 1G/2.5G/10G mixed.

I would up returning it and buying the CRS309. (for 2.5x price)

Hi, i just registered to talk about this type of devices
i actually have the "superior" version L3 labeled as ZX530S-8S

Loader Version 1.0.0.2
Loader Date Mar 21 2025 - 08:10:03
Firmware Version 1.1.1.30
Firmware Date Mar 21 2025 - 08:06:24

I think it's actually the same switch as the ZX-SWTGW2C8F but with a console port soldered.

I have been making some tests:

I can access the root console using the openwrt guide over ssh
The web interface it's pretty similar to the "web only"

Based on the root console i can gather this info about the cpu

~ # cat /proc/cpuinfo
system type : RTL9300
machine : RTL9300
processor : 0
cpu model : MIPS 34Kc V5.5
BogoMIPS : 531.66
wait instruction : yes
microsecond timers : yes
tlb_entries : 32
extra interrupt vector : yes
hardware watchpoint : no
isa : mips1 mips32r2
ASEs implemented : mips16
shadow register sets : 1
kscratch registers : 0
package : 0
core : 0

Also, looking at the files, on /etc/ i can see 2 files, one called oem_config
~ # cat /etc/oem_config
!!!9303 oem
username:admin
password:admin
ipaddr:192.168.2.1
ipmask:255.255.255.0
gateway:192.168.2.254
sysname:Switch
location:default
contact:default
timezone:480

/etc # cat version
Realtek/Switch Version 3.2.0 -- Fri Mar 21 07:56:40 UTC 2025
/etc #

Firmware Version 1.1.1.30 ... anything new firmware related ? ... L2 functions working flawless as far as tested ... but the dynamic routing daemon crashes ... sooner or later
switch is starting up with ~80% memory load ... probably OSPF and RIP will never work reliable on this device ?! ... but ... you never know ...
... the obscured email-voice behind the "horaco-support" is playing dumb ... "we can't reproduce the issue" ... oh really !?

I've got the GoodTop branded version of this switch and It's powered on and I get a blinking sys light but I can't get a link on any of the modules. did I get a DOA unit?

I managed to fix my bricked ZX-SWTGW2C8F by writing the .bix to the flash at 300000 - after that the switch came back to life :)

GoodTop sent me 1.1.1.31 earlier

Known Hardware
GoodTop GT-SWTXG8FM
Horaco ZX-SWTGW2C8F
Sodola SL-SWTGW2C8F
HRUI HR-SWTGW2C8F

I have uploaded it to my Firmware dump if anyone wants it

My GT-SWTXG8FM came yesterday Made Feb 2026 with 1.1.1.29 firmware on it
Updated to 1.1.1.31 just fine

i also removed the GoodTop Branding on it as its just a GoodTop branded SWTGW2C8F

Code:
System Information
Model ZX-SWTGW2C8F
System Name RTL9303
System Location 8 Port 10Gbps Switch
System Contact Shonk

A few notes in comparison to the 12 Port RTL9313, RTL8264B x 2 Based switch that has a silent Noctua Fan in it

3.3V voltage regulation is poor on the SFP+ Ports
its 3.30-3.31V on the 12 Port with built in PSU
its 3.21-3.27V on the 8 Port with external PSU

Temps are a good 10-12°C hotter even though
i have fitted Extensive cooling to the Cages
4 x 2mm Thick Copper M.2 Heatsinks (Weighty Lumps of copper)
4 x 5mm Thick Aluminum M.2 Heatsinks

All are LR Duplex,BiDi Simplex, or DAC's no RJ45 Modules

The 12 Port RTL9313 i just fitted 2 x 5mm Thick Aluminum Heatsinks

Apart from that the firmware and such is identical on both

Hi! I'm looking for firmware version 1.1.1.30 Horaco ZX530S-8S or a dump. I tried installing firmware version 1.1.1.31 Horaco ZX-SWTGW2C8F, but it didn't work. It was bad idea. I want to rollback it.
Upd: not actual. Found.

Thats the L3 version was certainly a bad idea
you may need to program it with a ch341 or something or check with a serial port what its doing in the boot process

I have just noticed Cage 1 doesnt light up on my unit
I presume its a faulty LED but there's a small chance 1.1.1.31 doesnt light up port 1
The port works fine just doesnt illuminate the light

Can someone confirm 1.1.1.31 port 1 the LED works plz

Edit
i just took it apart to check the pcb its missing LED1
will most prob try and find a matching LED at some point with my hot air station

Fitted some pads under the Cages whilst i had the pcb out

From my limited testing both 111.22 and 111.44
Is .44 a typo? .31 is latest?

Just keep in mind my note that this switch can't mix 1G, 2.5G, and 10G all at the same time. That is, you get 1G/10G or 2.5G/10G for all ports, not 1G/2.5G/10G mixed.
I have a
- 1gbps rj45 copper
- 1gbps SC fiber
- 10 gbps LC fiber
- 10 gbps passive DAC
- 10 gbps passive DAC

sodola specifically says you can do this, just have to manually set them. I didn't have to do anything they just work

i also removed the GoodTop Branding on it as its just a GoodTop branded SWTGW2C8F
Does this mean you modified the bin or are you only using the /oem_set.html thing the other post talks about?

its 3.21-3.27V on the 8 Port with external PSU
Where did you test this specifically? I want to test the same place as you just to see.

Of course my 2 fiber ones have info on the GUI itself but I figure you used a multimeter?

I have a voltage calibrator and 2 multimeters that are calibrated correctly to it so should be able to get a decent test if so.

Hello guys I am running 1.1.1.29
I have the SL-SWTGW2C8F
The newest one on offer by sodola

Does anyone else have the issue of the web ui crashing after several days? I also cannot ping the device when this happens.
However somehow it keeps working and switching?
I assume if they did they'd have already posted though.

- All active ports stay active, and working.
- Device cannot be pinged, webui is dead.
- If a port is plugged in during this state it does not work
- if a connected device is powered off (so the link goes down) and powered up, then the port stops working too...

I unplug it plug back in and it works fine.

Does this thing have logs? I can't find any lol

Someone mentioned some daemon dying years ago?

I am curious to try this new firmware version as ettrai 2 posts above is using it on the same exact device as me.

Thanks lol, sorry for long post.
I think I read every post in every thread about this thing on several sites. I know this forum for years though and the youtube channel so figured I'd join. Hopefully someone knows my issue thanks.

Oh ok, thanks
That means it could be two different things, either the voltage regulator or the voltage reader in your device that differs from mine. Not surprising the quality control differs so much =/
