I'm supprised to see the high CPU usage in guest VM on disk activity.
1-core CPU setup: up to 70%
2-core CPU setup: about 30%.
CPU usage on host is 2%.
System configurations:
-Host and guest OS: MS Server 2016
-SATA discs (Harddisk WD Re 500GB SATA, and SSD ADATA SP920 128GB)
-SATA onboard controller (C232 chipset), in both AHCI and RAID mode, tested all RST and RSTe drivers in all combinations
-Using virtuals disc and disk passthrough
-LSI PCIe RAID controller
No matter what I do I get these high CPU usage numbers :-(
Actions:
-On guest, copy file from network to local disc
-On guest, from local disk to another local disk (each disk is located on separate physical disk on host).
Is this normal?
