I just upgraded two of my servers from Proxmox VE 8.1 to 8.2, and although there is just of good stuff, as outlined in the video , the upgrade to kernel 6.8 (although good in itself) changes the network-interface names in the kernel. In my case, on an Intel X710-DA2, the names changed:

From enp101s0f0 and enp101s0f1 to enp101s0f0np0 and enp101s0f1np1 respectively (note the np0 and np1 suffixes). Be sure to have a secondary path to your server when upgrading, e.g. via IPMI.

Please note that the 'recommendation' is more of a requirement if you plan to use the GUI. The thing hated my names and refused to allow settings changes.
