Hello,

Few months ago I purchased Hasivo S1100WP-8GT-SE, every time I change the IP address type to dynamic it reverts back to the default static IP, I have emailed Hasivo asking if there is a newer firmware that solves this issue but no response.

Anyone here using S1100WP-8GT-SE that has newer firmware if so could you please share the firmware or able to get response from Hasivo can request for a newer firmware.

My device version is.
Loader Version HS_3.6.6.55087
Loader Date Dec 11 2021
Firmware Version HS_1.0.0.0
Firmware Date Apr 22 2023

Thank you.

I have a different Hasivo switch using the same management UI. Some of the buttons (like the save and logout button) gets hidden if your browser window isn't wide enough. Also, there is a menu option to copy the running config to the boot config (or something like that) which you could try.

If nothing else works, my unit also had a hidden menu where you can change the default factory config. If you end up needing it, I'll dig it up again for you from my old posts in this forum. :)

In general, I've found that you can contact them on AliExpress and they'll send you the updated firmware if there is one.

Thank you for the reply, I don't have issue with the save, logout and other buttons I do see these buttons. I will probably sale the switch and buy branded switch.

I did contact on AliExpress and the email posted on their website, no reply.
This is the problem with Chinese brand switches and other products they have no after sale support.

The quality of the management interface you get seem to be based on the switch chip generation. The slightly newer models have a different management UI, potentially with slightly fewer features (not sure) but seemingly fewer bugs.

If you want to try modify the IP by changing the default factory setting, you can check my old post linked below:

You could also try changing it using the telnet CLI (SSH is broken on my switch's firmware).

I see. They replied to me rather quickly when I asked on AliExpress, and I bought my switch several months ago.

For S1100WP-8GT-1XGT-SE there was firmware from sep 2023 . No idea if they run the same firmware on various S1100 models.

Loader VersionHS_3.6.6.55087
Loader DateNov 13 2022 - 14:37:31
Firmware VersionHS_1.0.0.0
Firmware DateSep 16 2023 - 17:02:53

Anyway hasivo@hasivo.com in april 2024 replied (in 1 day) that there was no newer firmware (for S1100WP-8GT-1XGT-SE) at that point. You could ask them using this email to see how things look like for your model.

Thank you.
I have the same switch which I bought from watching the STH review. I also have the same problem with the switch not saving the settings... Except I want a static IP address, but a different subnet from the default IP address, but after I change it, it works for a couple of weeks then all of a sudden, I can't access the web login. The only way I get the login back is if I reset the switch. Any news on a newer firmware?

Did you make sure to actually write the change to flash by saving it? If you want to be sure, you can use the CLI to see both the running config (only stored in RAM) and the startup config (stored in flash).

If that doesn't work, you can usually modify the default factory configuration on these switches using hidden menus. Exactly what the menu is called varies a bit based on the version of the management interface. Look at my post above for one example.

It definitely saved because it works for a couple of weeks at the new subnet address. I also added the new ip address to static mapping in OPNSense just to make sure nothing else can take the address. After a couple of weeks, when I go to the web management ip address, it just times out.

I haven't had the time to see if I could modify the factory default since I got so sick and tired of factory resetting the switch that I just let it run as a dumb non-managed switch, but obviously I want to get what I paid for. I'll try changing the factory defaults next time I factory reset the switch so I can log into the web management again. I'm just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and if they had a new firmware for it. I have the non-poe version of the switch which honestly makes me want to either stay away from Hasvio or ponied up for the POE version since more people seems to use that version.

Oh, that is a pretty important detail. Weird.

Yeah, I'd also be interested to know if this is a widespread issue or just an issue with your unit. :)

I have the Hassivo S1100WP-8XTGT-SE POE version. I'm on the same firmware version as you, and I'm experiencing the exact same problem with dynamic IP and saving configurations. After every reboot—or sometimes after a couple of weeks—the IP address reverts to 192.168.0.1. I've also tried different boot configuration options, but none have worked.

These are the configurations I've attempted:
  • Running Configuration
  • Startup Configuration
  • Backup Configuration
Has anyone in this forum received any updates from Hassivo regarding a new firmware release lately?

If that's the same thing as S1100WP-8XGT-SE POE then latest firmware that I got (after asking via hasivo@hasivo.com) is

Loader DateNov 13 2022 - 14:37:31
Firmware VersionHS_1.0.0.0

@Arekx do you know if your version is an updated version or is it the same? I mean firmware version says HS_1.0.0.0

@StefanA-Sweden If I recall correctly from firmware updates to my Hasivo switch (different model), they don't necessarily update the firmware version. If the firmware date changes, that's a new firmware. :)

Good question. I think it is something newer (otherwise I would assume the date wouldn't change; I did upgrade in december, so that's not update date). Menu screenshot attached.

I don't know why you would want it to be dynamic, personally for stuff like switch/AP/router, I would prefer it to be static. That said, I don't have the Hasivo switch, but I do have a ZYXEL GS1900-16 switch. The configuration is a little hard to get used to. Basically, the word "SAVE" isn't exactly in their vocabulary. Basically, hitting "apply" means the new setting will be inuse and on the 'running config'. Copying a 'running config' to 'startup config' is equivalent to save that will survive a boot. If you make a change and hit apply but didn't copy 'running config' to 'startup config' then the next reboot will reset it back to whatever the previously on 'startup config'. So, normally everytime I make a change, I usually will apply it to 'running config', then copy it to 'startup config' and back it up offline. I make a habbit of doing that now so I don't run into issue. Another thing is usually managed switch will have some sort of fall back method, meaning if set IP to dynamic but DHCP isn't available when it is making DHCP request, the IP address will be set to whatever the default manufacturor has set to. This may not sound like much, but if you think about it, DHCP has expiration. Meaning if you set your switch to dynamic, it will not only need to get the IP address initially, but once the lease duration is expired your swich will need to make another request to the DHCP server and if your DHCP server is not available at that time for whatever reason then you have that problem again. Most of the time, the default lease duration is 24 hours. Meaning your switch have to make new request every 24 hours. If you have your switch up for a few month, that's about 100 days, and for every day it make a new request you are betting on the fact that your DHCP is online. Your switch will continue to function even if its current IP address is not part of the rest of your network, you will only lose the ability to manage it.
