My storage nodes are soon to be ready eta about 2 weeks just getting all my hard drives ready.

Aw, come on guys! I love this pic! It's %$#@ awesome!!!!

Old drives are fun! You don't really have to care about them and no-one's actually gonna store mission critical data on them now right?

Well, I guess you can if you want to....

I mean, I really like this pic alot. I for one can't get enough of Hard Drives, and I don't know why, but I am soooo nostalgic of old tech...I'm not gonna lie, I still have many old 250-750GB drives I still plan to use.

I think this pic is sweet, because I remember from since the first time I bought my first 80GB WD I hacked to throw in my old XBOX to run the first XBMC.

Ah, the olden days... Stacks and stacks of low capacity drives....ummmm!

Keep your Xeon Gold's ... I raise you Tesla Golds.
Fully populated XL270d Gen9 Server trays... ready to slide into the chassis.
the other 10(8 pictured) are for other boxes. The answer to the universe is clearly 42 telsa v100s.

I can't believe I paused 3 times before undoing the 18 screws holding on the 4 side panels... totally worth it for that shot. Definitely a target to be protected... 5 Petaflops of tensor ops could ddos a shitton of things...

you don’t just spend six figures on a ML hobby (unless you are Patrick) there must be some business reasoning behind it.

If it’s ML I am curious what they are doing to justify 200k

What in general justifies these kinds of gpu’s.. could be medicinal, image analysis etc.. list goes on. But yes, $200k USD in a box is quite crazy

42 pictured, Apollo 6500 gen9's , 4 XL270d nodes, 8 V100's each, and the cards for the DL380s are on top.

It's more than 200k, but not a single box.
We are developing the reference architectures for the use cases that would be justified in using these, and supporting customers that use them.

That was Jan, this is now... SXM2
