I'm having some issues with the firmware update. When I get to the VPD part, it seems that I cannot get all my information listed for the subsequent update step - for example the command does not list the serial number. Anyone else run into the same issue?

Edit: darn, I just saw this inside the readme file inside the VPD directory:
- Flashing the LAN EEPROM will erase the content of VPD structure so VPD utility has to be executed AFTER flashing. To prevent this happens, VPD utility needs to run with the /D Dump option then with /I Import option after flashing LAN EEPROM.
Now what? Make up a serial number to use in the flash tool?

Edit2: I am an idiot. Power off the system, take out the card, flip it over, and it's all there on little stickers. For people reading this in the future, dump the VPD info to file first.

Does anyone have any issues with vendor locking or sync issues?

My 10G DAC comes up fine, but when I try use a 1G SFP module from my ISP, I get some errors.

It appears that 1000-baseLX is an available mode but the card does not want to switch to it, even if I try force it with sysctl.

/usr/local/etc/rc.bootup: The command '/sbin/ifconfig 'ixl0' media '1000baseLX'' returned exit code '1', the output was 'ifconfig: SIOCSIFMEDIA (media): Operation not supported by device'
<6>ixl0: Media change is not supported.
