Nice to hear you found the problem! How did you find the problem? Don't think ESXi can detect broken SSD's right?

latest version of ESX & omnios, the only logical explanation I can come up with is that something is wrong with vmxnet drivers.

Back to e1000, disconnects disappear.

Running since September. Never a disconnect on OmniOS. Something must be wrong with your hardware.

I had a bad SataDOM that would disconnect. Nothing to do with OmniOS.

So the hardware causes a problem between virtual NICs? Interesting theory. ESX 6 could be part of the issue, who knows.

Brand new hardware on the supported list.....same problems.

What you always should do when you modify network or NFS settings of the VM
or when you find NFS connection problems: Do or try a reboot of ESXi
