Thanks mate, I'm going to seriously debate if I should pull the trigger now. That one looks good. It turbos all cores to 2.4 ghz and it's quite cheap

"Intel CPU 0000@2200" is normal to ES, only QS become full cpu brand stringHi!
I recently bought a Xeon E5 2630 V4 (ES). I am running it on an Asrock X99 extreme6. The turbo is up to 3,1 and turbo on all 10 cores simultaneously is 2,4. Whats nice is that it runs so cool, it is easy to hold it on about 20 degrees C over ambient with full load on all cores.
Had some problems initially, MB shipped whith an ancient bios. So I had to buy a el cheapo CH341A programmer and flash the bios chip.
All seems really stable, have ran it for hours on full load. By the way RAM is Adata XPG Z1, 4x8GB.
Chip is stepping 1 revision M0 according to CPU-Z. Chip identifies weird "Intel CPU 0000@2200"
Another problem occured during testing, X99 seems incompatible with my test rig SSD, a Crucial V4 256 GB, Windows 10 exited with error during setup. Otherwise everything runs fine. Intended use is gaming and video editing.
Thanks mate, I'm going to seriously debate if I should pull the trigger now.
Different problems during W10 setup, hang or error message after first settings page. With another SSD everything is fine."Intel CPU 0000@2200" is normal to ES, only QS become full cpu brand string
X99 needs special drivers for USB3.0 like Skylake 100th chipset.
with what error ??? screenshot ?
if u install with usb drive there must be usb3.0 drivers in the boot img. but win10 should have that, win 7 SP1 has no drivers for usb3.0 and must be integrated with a tool.Different problems during W10 setup, hang or error message after first settings page. With another SSD everything is fine.
What did you mean with "special drivers"? Even during installation of OS?
Hehe, yes of course, thought there was something new and exotic...if u install with usb drive there must be usb3.0 drivers in the boot img. but win10 should have that, win 7 SP1 has no drivers for usb3.0 and must be integrated with a tool.
Sounds sensational, probably typo?@all pls look at this item

and pls ask the seller to serve a HWinfo screenshot shows all cores turbo up to 2800mhz
I'm pretty confident the seller's listing is incorrect. Good luck getting the seller to provide the screen-shot though.@all pls look at this item

i buy from KLFY, at the moment this seller has not few items because of low ebay store limits.Which seller do you normally buy from? I was considering buying from this seller in Japan but if he won't provide a HwInfo64 it becomes a gamble (even though I am protected as a buyer).
i know, i told him to correct that many times ago. but its was a hard work. then i give up.I requested a HWINFO64 screenshot with all cores loaded to confirm the all core clock speed.
I really doubt I'll get one, and this seller uses a template for their listings and the listings have been incorrect before (core counts, HT enabled, clock speeds, etc).
Maybe, but I do not think trying to get a partial refund from the seller is worth the effort due to language barrier, etc. The "tone" of their listings indicate they have to fight buyers trying to get refunds/returns frequently.i know, i told him to correct that many times ago. but its was a hard work. then i give up.
do u think i can buy one and get a fraction of my money back because of the incorrect clock ????
The questions are; does this "Frits Chess Benchmark" actually load ALL the cores up enough to fully test the ALL CORE frequency, and does CPUZ show the correct ALL CORES frequency when loaded...Special Notice:
1. The CPU-Z screenshots shows the maximum frequency which is the maximum ALL cores frequency at which the processor is capable of operating using Intel® Turbo Boost Technology (Turbo Boost all of the cores simultaneously) from the Full-load test by Fritz Chess Benchmark. Therefore, it is obviously NOT a default frequency.
I don't know if you have seen this page before and I either don't know if it is correct, but here are the turbo bins for the final Broadwell-EP lineup:Actually, along those lines, since I have the 2630 V4 ES from xtrememicro, I'll load up my windows OS tonight and see if I can reproduce what this seller shows as far as CPUz is concerned.
CPU-Z shows the frequency of only one core at the first tab(default core #0)The questions are; does this "Frits Chess Benchmark" actually load ALL the cores up enough to fully test the ALL CORE frequency, and does CPUZ show the correct ALL CORES frequency when loaded...
