BIOS includes some microcodes for supported processors, with proper util's u can mod BIOS files even for X99,
but all motherboard vendors cook they're own soup.
the included microcodes are from intel only and encrypted with checksum.

Guys, there's no apostrophe after plural. So it's 1990s, CPUs, utils, and so on. Not CPU's etc.

why would u do that ? there is no bad thing to later update microcode if the cpu is already running ;)

Reduced compatibility with ES processors. Just wanted to know if holding back updates was an option or not.

As a continuation of my ordeal; bought an Asus Z10PE-16 WS as they seemed to work for others. Where all the previous x99s/x99a boards would boot fine with a new retail i7-5930k. This won't even do that. (Does not boot with the e5-2698 v4 ES either. Single or both)

It just gives a black screen with Q-Code / LED Debug as b01.

Guess I'll have to buy different ECC ram off Asus's QVL...

have u chosed the right socket ? with only one cpu u have to use the correct,
but i think too that board do not support single type CPU,
and the BIOS must have (RDIMM)ECC

Finally got my Xeon E5 2698 V4 up and running.
And I’m in love! Also really happy with my Asus Z10PE-D16 WS
Here are some pictures. Thanks to this forum I’ll be buying ES cpu from now on.

And going to try to reach 4500 Points.

Anyone Know a good gaming ES CPU X99?
Need a high GHz CPU for gaming. ( Don’t know if I can game on a Max 2.5 GHz CPU )

Do you know how to overclock them using this motherboard?
I tried turning ON Xeon turbo charge on BIOS but it does not work and failed

No, I have to look in to it.
Try playing with the BLCK's first. start low like 101 is doable till 104 - 105

A few words to OC xeons.
the main BCLK is the clock used for pciexpress/usb/sata base timings too.
So there is a little tolerance(depends on used connected hardware) about +-2,5mhz.
outside this values pcie/usb/sata becomes unstable unusable.
haswell-ep is not haswell-e and not haswell. turbo's are locked.
You may see haswell-e overclocked to BCLK 125mhz, but that is a BCLK STRAP !!!
on haswell-e unlocked cpu there is a strap-unit that straps the main-BCLK up to a set of ratios,
x1.0 | x1.25|x1.5|x1.66 and more.
That strapping was created by Intel to reach Memory clocks above 2666mhz.
The resulting strapped bclk drives ONLY the cores and memory controllers.
This STRAP UNIT may exists on XEONs but if the XEON is locked, this STRAP UNIT is LOCKED to x1.0 !
If your system goes unstabled above main-bclk 103mhz its not why u r using ES.
