Some SKUs have x/y TDP numbers?

The 7281 and 7351 are attractive per core price points.

Dual 7281's are definitely a sweet spot.

32 cores and 64 threads for $1200

Probably the most bang for the buck.

EDIT: Should make the high end used Xeons drop a bit in price.

Anybody care to Guess how a 7281 would compare to an e5-2640v4 ??
Is that anywhere near a fair comparison performance wise ? Price wise the Intel today is ~900-950 so 50% more than AMD.

@gigatexal no I would not take half the performance at half the price, especially for a greater TDP.
At a Guess AMD will in a threaded environment delivery say the same performance at 25% or better cost reduction. Actually AMD at least initially have to delivery greater performance cheaper to get some market share.

So is Tuesday going just the announcement or will there be availability starting Tuesday?
Launch with ramp over several quarters. (Edit for stupidity, not sure why I was connecting convention and EPYC, see below: June 20th) July 30th is SIGGRAPH, a hard core graphics user conference e.g. scientists, 3D creators, engineers. Alienware will have Threadripper exclusive (with some boutiques).
