I already had this exact motherboard in order and found this thread when researching why this 7B13 chip seemed so relatively cheap on eBay ($1300 CAD ~ $1000 USD), and your report gave the confidence to go ahead try, so wish me luck!
Which would these be? I've seen the 7T83 and 7V13 but they're about double the price. The 7J13 is the only other one I've found for a similar price (slightly higher clockspeed/power consumption vs the 7B13 so it's a better replacement for a threadripper if that's what you're after).
The Dell and Lenovo SKUs won't work on retail motherboards. They are the regular models, so like 7713, 7763 etc. but locked to Dell/Lenovo motherboards and won't boot at all on a Supermicro/ASRock board.
Ah, well I was thinking of the Lenovo Threadripper SKU CPUs listed on eBay. Already ordered the 7B13 so probably not going to order another one - and the ones I’ve found are all $2000+.
All I know is that folks on this thread have reported that the 7B13 works with the ASrock ROMED8-2T, and several other SuperMicro boards.
AMD never ships locked SKU. they become Vendor locked after plugged in a locking motherboard.
I didn’t realize the “lock-in” was something as egregious as blowing tiny coded fuses in the CPU. It’s like some kind of venereal disease for processors.

If you want absolute maximum boost clock, get the 7443P, 24c/48t which will keep all cores synced to 4Ghz under 100% load. Use to run that one on my RomeD8-2T boards until I heard the siren call of moar cores.
