While looking for a new server i found these for sale, i haven't seen Dell e5-2600 servers this cheap in the netherlands. The prices for e5-2600V1/2 servers seem to drop quite fast these days and are coming into the homelab budgets .

I am not sure whether this is a good deal. I've seen them on the bay for 400 @ 2620 +16gb ram in EU, and those include the caddies. Beside, Marktplaats is pretty much only for dutch people as the sellers mainly don't have PayPal.

Also, you can get a cheap quanta at 200-300 with the config of OP, and i've even seen intel S2600gl servers at this pricepoint for over a year with 2660s + 32/64gb ram. So a homelab does not have to be that expensive i think.

Marktplaats is a good place to get deals though.
I bought 2 Dell R710's with dual L5520's for 200 euro each last month.
They came with 128GB ram, buncha dual gigabit cards and some 300gb 15k sas drives
Granted, those are not awesome CPU's, but those can be upgraded on the cheap.
620 has a new generation of CPU's though... Guess it all depends on how much compute you really need.
