I'm looking to upgrade my 2TB drive based linux software raid (mdadm) to 4TB based. I'm buying used drives on ebay for 40% of cost. Is there anything I should be aware of with compatibility? I've heard that linux doesn't care about mixing sas and sata drives with software raid? Is this true?
