its a different thing. it only has 4 lan ports, so different mainboard. the bios from this thread wont work.

plus they dont ship to germany which disqualifies it for me. prices would be good though.

So what would be disadvantage on the 4 port version ? Very high idle power because of no nodded bios available?

What about those 13th gen ones from other thread ? Looking through the posts they seem to be very problematic regarding cooling and their fan ?

i dont see any disadvantage unless you need 6 lan ports.
you just cant use the bios from here.
as for idle power suage, we cant tell, since none of us own that particular device.

the price is good though.

Also seems to have only single nvme and sata port, the 6 port version has 2 nvme and 2 sata, with 4 drives it can be also poor man's NAS

im using it with 4 drives right now. 2 1.6tb sata drives as zfs mirror for boot and vm-storage, 1 2tb nvme as plex media storage and 1 4tb nvme as backup datastore for my veeam (backups of physical desktops).

with the 4 port model this would not be possible

Hello Everyone,

I have been using my unit for the last ~11 months as a bare-metal pfSense host. Has been excellent, performant and no reboots or issues. It is located within a well ventilated space with the original PSU connected to a UPS. Being bare-metal pfSense the resource utilisation is typically low.

Today, connectivity to the internet suddenly stopped, I went to look at the unit. The device was warm (not hot) and was in a powered off state. The PSU LED was lit (there is a blue Dajing led on the PSU). Tried some basic troubleshooting, PSU is fine in another system but another PSU does not power this unit up. Connecting the original PSU back into this system now just flashes the blue LED, the unit does not power on when the power button is pressed.

I think the unit's mainboard has failed.

The NVME drive is still readable so working on getting it up and running in an alternative machine.

Has anyone else had any issues like this, any tips on ways to get it to power back up? Did you reach out to CWWK for support and what was that experience like? Thanks in advance.

No it is not resolved in 7.4-1 and via usb-c you do indeed get more info and it seems the unit goes into a boot loop of some kind....

So this (+this) still applies using this...

Not sure if it was mentioned, but I just did an install with iso 8.2-1 and it worked without issues....

Changing HWP can be done with a Hex editor, but I wrote a small python script to do it.

Could you a short description what of these tools is needed to get the console redirect option?
I have a diff model and dont know these tools, but the console redirection would really help me.
I have the bios bin file of my model, any tips would be appriciated.

Ok, they want me to send it back. Guess that will take some time, hopefully i get a replacment or fixed one.

So after a couple of month i finally got my machine back and its working again but with the locked bios ofc. Now I am not sure if i should or even could try to install the provided bios. My board is a CW-MBX-AD12 and the build date is AD12R20231204 version 2.22.1288
What do you guys think?

Hello everyone.
The recent hot summer days forced me to make a small modification to the case. I completely redid the two pieces of side sheet metal, so the part where there are the ethernet ports and the other one where there are the USB sockets.

I then used a pvc mesh canvas on Aliexpress. It's working well I have a few degrees less than before.
I didn't have precision tools so as you can see from the photos the work is not perfect.

i didnt noticed any bad increase in temperature.
my proxmox server is still running at around 38-42 celsius (with an ambient of 28 celsius).

i also have a fan blowing down on the unit.

Lol looks better than the two fans (top and bottom) I mounted to mine with zip ties and velcro like a sandwich. And it turns out my cable modem was the one overheating after that so I zip tied a fan to the side, right against the meager vent holes. It would start dropping packets out of the blue and I thought it was my router but the issue followed the ethernet that the modem was connected to...

First off, thanks to everyone for a great STH community thread on this device. I went through the whole thing.

I just ordered mine with an 8505 on Amazon for $230 USD barebones. I'll get the jazzed up BIOS and the follow the settings folks work well.

I finalized my build and I must say that I'm really satisfied with this machine. I have the 8505 version and I'm using it as switch/NAS/media server/download box, running on Arch linux. I have two NVME drives and two SATA drives and after some tweaking it uses less than 8W in idle with one active network adapter. I put 120mm fan running at 700rpm (practically inaudible) on top of it using double sided tape and the CPU temperatures are around 20C in idle (which is quite unrealistic, since room temperature is 23C ) and never exceeds 65C under sustained full load (package power around 35W).
One SATA drive is attached on the inside and second on the outside of the lid (again with the double sided tape). The NVME drive on the NVME extension adapter is running at 1x PCIe 4.0 and it can achieve around 1.7GB/s read and write speeds, which is not bad.
I'm using original Dajing 65W power adapter, I tried it also with delta and lite-on adapters, but both of them had idle power consumption higher by 2W for some reason, so the Dajing is actually the most efficient.
The idle power consumption also depends on used SATA drives, now I'm using 4TB Crucial mx500 and 512GB Samsung 850 evo, but when I used Verbatim VI550 the power consumption was 2W higher. I'm planning to replace the Samsung drive with another 4TB Cucial in the future (maybe when the prices will drop again).

I got one on order from CWWK, thanks for all the work involved here! Looking to run Pfsense, OPNsense, HomeAssistant, and Frigate using a usb Coral and iris xe iGPU for detection of 6 indoor camera's assisted by mmave based multi sensors for intelligent automation and security.

I'm interested to know more about how your using the Intel Xe capabilities for your indoor cameras. I ordered a unit with an 8505 because I got it for cheap, just curious what the Intel Xe nets you besides more power. Thanks!

Hey guys!
I'm running my unit with 32GB (2x16GB) 3200MHz from Crucial.
I'm considering upgrading to 64GB (2x32GB) 3200 MHz but from Corsair (Vengeance).
Does anyone know if this memory brand and model would work with this CWWK unit?

This is the model number for this specific memory: CMSX64GX4M2A3200C22

I'm not from USA, and a fellow of mine is going there. Crucial doesn't support worldwide warranty, but Corsair does. So this would allow me to upgrade and also claim Warranty if needed.

not sure if this particular memory module will work, but im running mine on chinese noname memory and the unit has zero issues with it.
i wouldnt expect issues with it, but first boot after upgrading memory may take a loooooong time due to memory training.
so dont be impatient.
