Crucial MX500 Integrated Power Loss

Think this discussion happened around the older models in the past. But was wondering if anyone had more info on said Power loss protection of these SSD?

Usual disclaimer this would be for lab/home use not enterprise. If NAND price could come down the 1TB and 2TB could almost make some sense for a all flash NAS with some "cheap" 10gig SPF+ network

Crucial doesn't do end to end PLP on consumer drives. Just get used enterprise drives. Look for that STH Optane ZFS testing article.

Thanks for the reply. But I was looking for a more detailed explanation on the subject.

Did read most articles on the subject but did not see what I was looking for hence the forum question. Can you point me toward a used enterprise drive in the 2TB range that would be sub 600$CA ?

From memory the crucial stuff was a firmware trick but some actually had cheaper ceramic caps (not sure if crucial or kingston actually) vs the more $$ electrolytic/solid type. Was wondering i any one had more info on the subject.

@Jon they do not back their DRAM write cache with capacitors. It is not the type of capacitors as much as it is that an unsafe power loss will cause data loss / potential corruption.
