Can a supermicro SC829H be converted to 24 2.5 inch trays?

I am often surprised by how modular supermicro chassis are, with people swapping backplanes with newer models, etc.

I own a 829HE1C4-R1K02LPB chassis which is a 12x 3.5 disks 2U chassis (plus another 4 in the middle and 2 at the back).

Can the 12x 3.5 inch front panel be replaced with a 24x 2.5 inch trays panel or is it a too large structural change?

Nope.
Because without carriers, it looks like this:

There's a lot of sheet metal to guide the caddies. The chassis has very specific cutouts, the sheet metal is riveted to the chassis, etc...

No way.
