I don't quite understand what the output means. I see the update of the licenses you talked about. And if I understand correctly that I can only use 24 ports now?
P.S. I'm sorry, I don't know English well and I'm translating the console output via Google. And he doesn't always translate clearly.

Yes, in your case you can use only 24 ports 10G.

With command "dpod x/x/x reserve" in configuration you reserve a license from count (24) to selected port (rbridge-id/slot/port_count).
in output you have " 24 license reservations are still available for use by unassigned ports ".
Plus ports should be in Access mode ("show interfaces status" command and column "mode")

Your switch uses licenses:
10G port upgrade, when you can get up to 24 additional 10G ports to work;
40G port upgrade, when you can get up to 4 additional 40G ports to work;
FC/FCOE license to use FCOE and FC (upto 32 ports can work on 8G/16G FC speed) with firmware 7.2.x or less

If you need more ports ask Fohdeesha or write pm.

p.s. empty (without license) switch on ebay costs around $100-200.
full licensed from $500 to ~$1000.

40G port upgrade, when you can get up to 4 additional 40G ports to work;
So it turns out that all my ports are already working? I checked with a cable and all ports are detected except those that I listed. My 40G ports did not react at first to the inserted cable, now I checked the reaction (I looked at the output of information via the COM port). Then she disappeared again. I just can't figure out if this is a physical issue or something to do with the licenses.
FC/FCOE license to use FCOE and FC (upto 32 ports can work on 8G/16G FC speed) with firmware 7.2.x or less
Are licenses needed only for this mode of operation?
I'm sorry, I understand that my questions are stupid. This system of licenses and ports is just so tricky. According to information on the Internet, I could not figure it out (

If all ports (except mentioned) are lighting (green led if I right), then it working. If blinking or come down (you see it in console output "error message "administratively down"") then isn`t working right now.
If doesn`t react at all, then maybe hardware issue in port (physical damage).
Please attach also "show interface status" output.

Switch can uses only transceivers or Active cable (AOC). If you use DAC (passive cable), port won`t work and send error message (should).

No, your switch doesn`t have licenes, so you can use ANY selected 24 ports from pool of 48 ports at speed 10G, and can`t use 40G ports.

System of licenses is simple and described even in PDF presale datasheet.
I described 3! licenses that you can use if need it: for 10G ports, for 40G ports, for FC/FCOE. Its all are separate licenses.

No, on switch there is only ssh/console interface.
From Ruckus site you can download trial BNA (broadcom network advisor) soft: this is java application to control all (around several generations) brocade series: VDX, Brocade FC, ICX, MLX (SLX probably) from server/laptop with windows.
or non-trial modern SanNav.
