Has anyone had problems when using GBase-T transceivers on the ICX-7xxx series and running them at 100Mbps? Want to get an all fiber switch but still be able to use my iDRAC ports - which are 100 mbit copper. Worried that some of the ports wont support 100mbit even with a gbase-t transceiver
I've not tried, however my 7250 only lists 1 & 10g support on the sfp+ ports (in the web UI at least), the copper ports support lower link speeds.

The spec sheets say the sfp+ models only support 1/10G on the SFP+ ports for the 7250 at least.

I'm only trying to run it at 10Gb myself, do you happen to know what command/mode you used to set the speed? When I tried "config speed 10g-full" it told me I needed a compatible sfp+ module. It was plug and play on the 6610.

Have you told it to not care about 3rd party modules - I did this from the guide

optical-monitor
optical-monitor non-ruckus-optic-enable
write mem

I've been running a few Xicom 10G and 2.5G modules I've bought off Aliexpress in my ICX7250P, without much of any issue. On the other end I've got either AQC107 or realtek/intel 2.5G nics. Running at 10G I've had to redo a couple terminations, but that's just ethernet being picky at a couple bodges I did while still learning how to properly terminate copper lines.

I've got the settings about third party modules on, the temps are quite good (modules are in ports 1, 5 and 8). The 10G modules usually are around 55°C, the 2.5G ones much lower (45 ish). Switch overall is 40°C psu and 70°C Asic.

I have tried both with and without this command, this is a module that was working fine in the 6610, using the same cable and firewall/NIC on the other end. Just doesn't make sense.

Running show media it seems the switch thinks it's a sfp module not sfp+

For snickers and grins, would you please rerun the licensing commands from the op?

Sup folks.

I have some bad problems with the serial of the console.
I went on a work trip and my ups failed, when returned at home I discovered that all the things in the rack were still working good but my AP died, no power from the 6410.
I Plugged my laptop woth the usual rj45-db9 cable, and poof, nothing with putty.
Tried everything and still nothing.
Ordered a MAX3232 to change ic thinking that it was the culprit but nothing has changed.
Really out of ideas, I thought of maybe resetting it by removing the cmos battery but the if it loses the setup that I initially set it up with Ill enter a world of pain since ill have officialy no switch.
Any solution on that?

Sounds to me like it needs a reboot, of course as you said it might not come back. I had an Aruba switch that that PoE portion failed after a nearby lightning strike. Personally I would probably order myself another switch to have ready to go.

Today something strange happened.
After a while some garbled up strings come up on the serial monitor.
It took some impit but then went out.
Same setup as always, nothing changed, just that after a while the switch come back to life serial wise but then went out again

Has anyone else had issues with the ICX7250 and 10g BaseT? I am using Mikrotik 10g baseT SFP+ modules that worked fine in an ICX6610, but the 7250 doesn't seem to recognize them? I attempted to force the speed to 10G but that didn't seem to help.
In case anyone else has this issue, I finally figured out the issue. I had to set the speed of the port to 10g-full BEFORE inserting the sfp+ module, this wasn't required on the fiber sfp+ modules. Attempting to run the command with the module inserted gave me the error that the module was sfp. I ran the command withe the port empty, inserted the module and it came right up.

I want to get my icx7250-24p to run off DC using the EPS4000 connector. It turns out the required connections are quite simple:
  • Pin 2: 12V
  • Pin 5: GND12 (cable detect), jumper to Pin13 (shorted inside of icx7250 to Pin12/GND12)
  • Pin 8: 54V
  • Pin 12: GND12
  • Pin 18: GND54
My icx7250-24p now boots and runs POE devices powered from the EPS4000 connector without any AC power. The power bricks are for test purposes only. When deployed, this switch will run from a LifePO4 solar backup battery.

I'm trying to get to the bootloader to factory reset the switch, since I'm selling it to a colleague but every time i see the "Enter 'b' to stop at boot monitor" it goes from 1 to 0 then starts loading the image from Primary. I've attempted to hit the bootloader 15 times, with 2 different machines but it seems to not accept any of my keyboard commands.

Is there something I'm doing wrong, here or is it just this finicky?

I had a similar problem with a 7150. Solved it by using the reset button while powering up and after the reset I got to the boot menu with the first attempt pressing b.

Thanks for the awesome guides. Got two ICX7250-48Ps deployed and stacked at a non-profit I volunteer at. Works beautifully. Stacking was super straightforward too (I think it was `stack interactive-setup` but I don't remember now).

it's not finicky at all from what I remember, have you confirmed your serial adapter/etc is actually sending what you type? eg when it finally boots can you type and have it get picked up on the console? and make sure caps lock is off

So I was following the configuration but I do not have a default vlan 1 - how have others been able to get around?

Arista 7050qx (7/1)
switchport mode trunk

Brocade icx7150 (1/2/1)
vlan 99
tagged ethernet 1/2/1
router-interface ve 99

interface ve 99
ip address 10.8.99.15 255.255.255.0

I am unable to ping the gw or get out to the internet the the "Initial Configuration".

Thanks for the help
