I like the idea that the graphics card controls system fans, but I doubt that it will be usefull in bigger (atx +) cases without air shrouds.:(

Seems odd to have a gaming GPU review on the site but I'm not complaining, more content the better :)

I absolutely love the Strix cards, I just sold my 1070 Strix and it was a great card, cool and quiet under load, if I wasn't going with a Silver/Green themed Workstation build, I would've jumped on this card instead of a Founders Edition card.

Yeah I feel the same. After I got the Strix 1080 I knew I had to have the Strix 1080 TI OC.
The most demanding game I play is Star Citizen, at 4K its smooth as butter with Max settings.

I still have the GTX 1070 STRIX. For 3-fan and 1080 / 1080 Ti I went with the Gigabyte versions. The STRIX cards, like some other custom cooling cards, have a taller PCB. That works fine in consumer cases but does not work for the larger GPU chassis.

The shorter PCB ones do work in the 8 GPU chassis but do not have the best cooling layout: Deeplearning010 - 8x GTX 1080 Ti Build (Deep learning and crypto mining)

True, true, my Graphics Amp wouldn't shut all the way with the taller PCB. That 1070 is no joke. I was playing BF1 native res on my Dell U3415W 3440x1440 with no issues at all.
