still confused about the power supply. Besides the dingus to adapt a 24pin ATX to the little 4 pin guy, it looks like you'd also need a power supply with 3x 8x12v pin EPS connectors. Does that pretty much mean just server power supplies?

Most modular PSUs could handle that, though they might no ship with the right cables.
